AEM EMS, ive got it and love it, plus it sounds like your already leaning that way anyways... are you going to get the uego unit or the standard? What price have you found so far? I might be able to help get you a better price depending on what price youve found

MoTec or Autronic would be my first choices if my pockets were deep.

Im not familiar with the resolution available via link, but they definetly offer a tasty option.. Either wire it from scratch if you've got wiring gremlins or use one of their 'link adapters'..

Nice features too, boost control, flat shifting, launch control, etc...

If this person in australia ends up not selling it to you, send them my way!

Thanks!

I am liking the link setup as well....affordable well rounded standalone that Subaru guys have been using for years.

Seriously, the decision really comes down to the tuner if you're not doing the tuning. Call around I'm sure there are some big shops down there.

If you go with the AEM just make sure you get the modified CAS wheel.

the aussie guys have jumped on the 26 djetro for their 25's thats an option.

Consult with a tuner before anything else. Its like having a $200 Million Fighter Jet and not having a pilot to fly it.

with your setup you could very easily run a chipped stock ecu. the RB ecu's are really pretty nice pieces of equipment. Plus you keep your vtc.if you're dead set on a standalone, def check with your tuner first.

u talking about chipping an rb20det and setting it up for an rb25det. I know the rb25det has a 72 pga chip. Looks like a processor almost. Besides u can chip those once and it's done. Not sure if it can be written to.

Don't bother chipping it... get a standalone. And just like others have said, find a good tuner first. You want to pick a standalone that the tuner has had a lot of experience with.

Chipping a RB25 ECU is not like doing the RB20 ecu, and is not a pratical option. It is possible, just not practical or cost effective. There is some guy here on Okinawa that is running a chipped 300z ecu which is chipped just like a RB20, and you can keep the vvt. He wrote up a little article on zeroyon.com about it. I'm to lazy to search for it on there, but I think his screen name is like winstonusmc (that looks correct) or something.

whoops, didn't know the 25 ecu was so different. see what happens when you assume?

still, if you could mod a 20 ecu, and keep vvt... i still don't think thats a bad option.

Hey man, with the price of the AEM hit me up ([email protected])cause I can def. get you some money off of that price! Also I live up here in Oklahoma and I take my RB down to Tony Palo he is in the dallas area, and I would not trust my car with another tuner!http://www.t1racedevelopment.com

I offer a daughterboard and tunes for the RB25DET using the stock RB25DET ECU. They are converted to use a single eeprom chip that is reprogramable multiple times with a standard chip burner or you can use programs like NRE to map trace and emulate for real time tuning. I have done multiple ECU's with great results. It is a much cheaper yet VERY effective and reliable option to a standalone, plus you keep all the standard setting of the stock ecu for drivability and such. It also lets you keep and control VVT. The latest one I have done was a series 2 rb25det, z32 afm, 750cc, Gt35R @ 10psi. Its starts first crank everyday and idles smooth.
