OK.. i searched and only found answers for wiring a new gauge cluster into drivers side r32 or 180sx. I am trying to figure out if this is the plug that gets signal from the ecu to the gauge cluster. This is a pic from the passengers side behind and a lil above the glove box. Look right to you guys and if so which ones are for for spedo, tach, water temp.

BY THE WAY I finished installing the safc2. I'd like to know if you guys want me to do the write up for the install or do you think it's a waste of time.

yes, that plug. 89-90's s13 the plug is white, on 91-94 the plug is brown.

wires on that plug (to give signal to the cluster) will need to be connected to macthing wires on the rb's ecu harness.

tach signal: orange/red water temp signal: blue/black

safc wiring is easy. cut between the ecu's maf signal, splice into the rpm signal, and kncok. 10-minutes ordeal. a nice write up with clear pictures wouldn't be too bad

are you using the ka's lower harness? if you are the speedo sensor connection is already accounted for once everything is plugged in.

i'll double check the wires for the speedo.

i'm really not sure on what lower harness i'm using. I'd say it's the rb. Ok, also i know i'm supposed to change the rb coolant temp sensor to the ka. Now i knoticed the rb is a single wire sensor and this ka one i just bought today has 2 connections. Here's a pic is this right?

here's the deal!

nissan motors uses two coolant temp sensors. one for the ecu, one for the gauge cluster. both ka and rb have these. you want to look at the one-wire-sensor, look at its wire you'll see, it's blue/black like i mentioned above. from my experience: the ka's coolant temp put out the same reading as the rb's, i have tested both and see no difference.

DO NOT REMOVE THE RB'S TWO WIRE WATER TEMP SENSOR.

ok i knew that the bigger water temp sensor was for the ecu but the other smaller one was questionable. A few people on here suggested a change in sensor type for the smaller one for the gauge. Ok, if that's the deal i'm gonna return this one. thanks for the help soo far boostfed.

sorry jon i was trying to fix that damn thing. My camera fits the pic to that huge size even when i change extensions like jpg or bmp. I'm still learning how to use it. My apologies.

I switched out my sender and it changed the readout so I think there is truth to it.

I am responding to your email, and I may actually have a spare sender that you can use. I can answer a few of your wiring questions if you end up coming by this weekend. The speed wires are both a medium/light green.

i suggest you to leave the two wire water temp sensor originally come with the rb alone, because that's what more accurately calebrated for the rb ecu.

that is one i wasn't planning on messing with at all. the smaller one is what i was messing with. i wired it but it's not moving soo i'm just gonna say screw it and go with the digital water temp gauge.

man i'm sure your right but i'm soo done with wiring. I need a break from it. So i'm just gonna get a digital water temp gauge. Tach worked and gas gauge works and warning lights are working. safc2 is getting all other signals tach, afm, corr, batt, knock. It's fine for now. Thanks for all the help boostfed. Your on my christmas present list.

Thw two wire sensor is the Coolant temp sensor. That is an input for the ECU for air/fuel maps. The 1 wire is the Coolant temp sending unit. Thats for the gauge. Change the 1 wire from your KA to the RB and call it good. I just wanted to correct the terminalogy.-Alex
