I am wondering If the sr20det red top engine has a speed limiter in it bc i know the s13 KA does at like 108mph, and this just pisses me off, I am going to be doing a swap this winter, and would like to know if I can use a red top auto ecu to take off the speed cut (if there is one) Or would it be better to buy the HKS little doo-dad for like $100?

FEEDBACK PLEASE>>>>>>>>>>>>

Just dont connect the yellow and green speedometer wire and see what happens. The stock redtop cutoff should be around 128 mph.

If you cut the wire you will still be able to see how fast your going because the circuit goes: Speed sensor>speedometer>ECU. So if you dont connect the speedo wire at the ECU the circuit goes speed sensor>speedometer.

yeah but now the car will act funny at idle when you try to come to a quick stop. The ecu reads the speed sensor then talks to the IACV.
