Edit: yeah. that pinout is wrong.

Speed sensor has two wires. Y/L and Y/B. Connector number M211.

These wires both run up to the combination meter. Where Y/B terminates and Y/L becomes Y/R. Y/R Runs to the ECU at Pin 7.

So you should be able to tap under the hood in the engine harness number 2 or main engine harness Y/L. or at the ecu using Y/R at pin 7.

I'd check my work before you close it all up.

my redtop w/ 63 ECU (but it's a 5MT. XAT says 63=62 when i bought it, but i think the idle and warm-up routines are bogus. once i chip it i'll find out i guess) is the same i'm pretty sure. i hooked up a meter off of it a few weeks ago and red/yel sounds familiar for the speed sensor. just as a note in case anybody is wondering with a redtop/62/63 ECU.

The 62 & 63 ecu can both be used on the manual transmission. Ony thing is that 63 will wait till you totally stop to lower your rpm. Someting to do with the throttle position sensor i believe. As far as question where to hook up the speed thing (i am guessing something like greddy turbo timer, blitz power meter?) use this diagram here.

that;'s strange, I tapped it to pin 7 (black/green) and nothing happen

my power meter does not read it... I need to check my connection again later

oh yeah I am on an E5 ecu... well power fc that replaces e5

It's terminal 32 of the ECU. It should be Yellow with Green stripe. This wire should also go to your gauge cluster plug. It's the only Y/G wire that goes to the gauge cluster plug so you can splice it there.

32 is "ECU speed input"

I need "ECU speed output"

it is not the same thing is it

You need the speed sensor reading and thats where you get it from.

This is how I have my HKS Turbo Timer hooked up and the turbo timer measures my speed (0-60, 0-100, 1/4m time, etc etc)

BTW, there is no such thing as speed output from the ECU. The speed measurements are given to the ECU from the speedometer which in turn gets the signal from the speed sensor.

There would be a speed output in the speed sensor which is equivalent to speed input in the ECU because the signal travels like this: Speed sensor -> Speedometer -> ECU
