ECU Self Diagnostic Problem (S13 KA24DE)

I posted this in another sub-forum, but it is a pressing issue and I would like to get some responses:

I have a solid CEL that stays on. I have attempted to put the car into Self Diagnostic mode by turning the screw on the ECU to the point where it stops, waiting, then turning it back.

I have also tried leaving it all the way in the Self diagnostic mode.

In both cases, I have attempted the test with the car on, off, off and then turned on while the screw was on self diagnostic mode, ON then turned OFF while the screw was on self diagnostic mode.


In all cases, the Red lamp in the ECU is always on. it never blinks, it never turns off.

the CEL is always on.


I have tried clearing the flash memory by disconnecting the battery and the ECU for a half hour.

it does not work.


At this point, I assume there is something wrong with my ECU.

any thoughts?

theres factory info in 240sx sticky forums.
find the ecu pin diagram. get a DMM, and back probe the two or three important pins. usually 2 grounds, and 1 battery positive. 12v all the time.
then proceed to check the other pins for specified voltage or resistance.
