can anyone tell me if i have a s13 or s14 ecu? or lead me to a site were I can run these #'s the pics suck..couldnt turn off flash

wait im confused..your friend says he might have a s14 ecu? well what engine does he have? s13 blacktop, redtop, s14 sr..you cant have a s13 sr and have a s14 ecu..if he has a redtop then plug in that ecu and see if it plugs in..if it doesnt then you dont have a redtop ecu (62 or 63)

if your ecu plugs in then im almost 100percent sure its the correct ecu. I dont think any of the sr ecu's plugs are compatible but maybe its just the pinout...anyways when he trys to start it what happens? let us know

so now its getting fuel and spark? it just wont catch? make sure the timing is correct. did you guys mess with the CAS? connect your ignitor to his engine harness and see if it starts up

yeah that exactly whats happening...Im taking my ignitor over and well try that...also tha cas can be twisted by hand...that cant be good & and prob is the problem...correct?

if the problem is not the ignitor (which i dont think it is since you are getting spark) then im sure it is just the timing being off..yes the CAS being able to be turned to the left and right by hand is not good..that will retard/ advance your timing randomely since its not tightened down..its two 10mm bolts that tighten it down and the timing should be 15degrees btdc
