ECU RPM limit

What is suppose to happen when 89 240 ka24e rpm hits 7000rpm/ My engine totally shuts down for approx 10 secs? ??Faulty ecu or normal.

hmm.... isn't the e's rev limiter around 6400rpm?

manual ecu redline at i think 6200? and i believe auto ecus top off at 6500? not sure search around 7000 is a bit too high don't you think? =X

I thought it was 6800 (manual). I used to have one and I know the "red line" on the tach starts at 6500, I know I have gone past it.

anyway, back to the orignial post, the rev limiter is harsh on these cars. I know that if you hit the rev limiter in a shift it is very likely the engine will die. And I have heard quite a few experiences where it is very hard to start after this happens. Don't know why, but I guess you are not alone...

Probably cuts off fuel at like 6700RPM (on the stock tach needle)..

Anyways, I don't ever rev past 6,200RPM... the engine makes a really bad noise after like 6K.. (Even when i'm runnning i don't).

Careful man.. i don't trust these single cams..

well it should do the fuel cut off... but the car dies out? never heard that before... but then again... why are you going 7000?
