Im am prob going to go with a z32 maf for my sr20, but i have heard you need to retune your ecu..

i get the basic point of retuning it, i mean it is bigger and can let more air through which is the reason im getting it.

can someone explain where to get a ecu retune and the cost?

what change will happen once i get this retune

sorry for this noob question

google enthalpy.

what upgrades are you running to need the z32 maf? if you are going to be running a stock motor it would be easier and cheaper to just use an sr or ka-e maf.

Yes, you'll need your ecu retune if you want to use a Z32 maf. It costs around $500 for enthalpy to tune your ecu the first time and about $50 for a reflash IIRC. I'd wait until you have more parts that requires tuning of your ecu ie; bigger injectors, cams, and an upgraded turbo. You won't see any change at all from a Z32 maf. If you're thinking a Z32 maf alone is going to give you performance gains, it won't. It's mainly there to be able to read the extra air being sucked in from a bigger turbo.

You have to retunr the ECU or get something like an SAFC because the Z32 MAFS gives off different voltages than the SR MAFS, so the ECU doesnt read the Z32 MAFS properly.

If your keeping stock injectors there is no reason to get the z32 maf. If you really wanna to have the `z32 maf you might as well get injectors to and get a real tangible power gain from the motor. Seeing as you going to have to pay for a tune anyway. Jim Wolf does good tunes, and so does enthalpy. i have hear some bad things about enthalpy (all customer service related not with the product) and i hear he is swamped so i would go with Jim Wolf. There is also a SAFC but i would get that dyno tuned cuz there is a lot that can go wrong with the SAFC. No one here is a big fan of them but they are good for people who anything more would be overkill.
