once the ecu is reset (battery replacement) what conditions does the car need to be operated under for it to relearn the error codes if there are any? car runs well unfortunately i cant take it out on the road very far since theres no insurance, or front bumper to attach a license plate. i'd like to pull any codes and make sure all the sensors are functioning before i yank the engine.

the car will need to be operated normally for it to put the sensors through their normal operation. that includes driving it at steady speeds both at freeway speeds and cruise speeds.

i was afraid you were gonna say that.

what do i do?

the last thing i want is to plop the engine in drive it and find out that something difficult to access is shot out?

aarrrgggghhhhhh!!!!

*sigh*

where can i find a dyno?

getting a dyno to meet all the perameters needed to put the sensors through all their various functional tests is near impossible. if you have enough room to accel hard to 60 mph and then break you would put most of the sensors through at least a partial check. its the EGR temp sensor,02 sensor operations that wont get the most comprehensive test as they dont tend to throw a code till after 20 secs of failure at sustained speeds around 50 to 60 mph and above.

I am not sure what you mean by "that was like humor"You asked how to put the sensors through their tests.I told you how you could do a short burst so you dont have to get it out on the road. Did you not understand what I was saying? You wouldnt need to drive it far to do what I told you. but I did warn you a couple components would need longer then that to set a code so you may not set a code for those.

heh-heh i understood. buttprez is the one with the problem.

really i was just kidding about the dyno. seriously though theres always park rangers and police on the main road so its risky. i dont think id get i could up to 60 on the rocky one lane dirt road going the other way.

thanks for the info

ahhh I see....Um mm I have used a dyno to perform a partial SRT road test to clear the moniter , which is basically what you are trying to do but some of the tests cant be performed on a dyno.[easily]So I took you seriously.
