I have a 93 240sx coupe with 107,000 miles on it and an automatic.

i just recently installed a cold air intake to it and directions told me to reset the ecu...now im wondering if i really did it correct...b4 i installed the Inake I took out the negative and then the positive plug from the battery, which technically should reset the ecu after that right?...i mean without juice to the car the ecu cant function so it would have resetted it like that...it took me at least an hour after i was done installing the intake b4 i replugged the battery wires up again.

Do u guys know if i did it wrong or is there a way to reset it even after i installed the intake now...if there is another way to reset the ecu please tell me. thanks

your ecu should be reset as long as there was no power going to the ecu for a while. since you had the cable from the battery disconnected, you're in the clear.

i guess the main reason why im asking is because recently my motor has been acting funny.

It actually stutters when im riding down the road ...mainly i found it stuttering at 1900 rpm if i keep it at a steady rpm, the engine will literally choke up and go completely out of timing i guess is what it is.

i dont know if my ecu has been thrown off from the intake or what it could be but it aint normal i tell ya that much. only time i get it from stop stuttering is if i let go of the gas and hit the gas to go over that rpm that it stutters in.
