I recently had to replace the ECU on my Maxima with the NATS security system I believe this is more similar to the Y33 ECU than the 1st generation G50. I learned I needed to get the exact part number to avoid future check engine light issues that would come from pin configuration changes.
I sent my old ECU to
www.foreignecurepair.com (FECUR) where they ran some test and determined it could not be repaired. FECUR found a replacement ECU with the exact part number, tested it, warranted it for 18 months, and shipped it to me for $250 delivered to my door. The replacement ECU is sealed for the 18 month warranty. Once I received the replacement ECU, I had the car towed to the Nissan dealer where they used Consult to reprogrammed the system for my existing OEM keys to match the new ECU. The replacement ECU works great and it remedied my problem.
If your ECU can be repaired, FECUR will repair, warranty it, return it, and your keys will not need to be set by the dealer. If you ECU cannot be repaired, FECUR will return your old ECU with a replacement for $250. I noticed FECUR will extend the warranty for 5 years for an extra $39 dollars.
I found the FECUR staff to be professional and their service exceeded my expectations.
