I have a question for yall. When I bought my KA/5 speed setup the seller gave me an ECU for an automatic. He told me that I will work with my 5 speed but its better to use rather than the 5 speed ECU because it has no speed limiter and he also said it doesnt have a rev limitor. Is this true? Which do you prefer?

thanks for the help

The automatic has different software (Maps) that are made for such a drive train. There are many people out there that can remove the speed limiter out there.

The automatic transmission ECU expects to receive inputs from other sensors than the manual transmission has to offer. So you will see some codes stored on the ECU. If your really unlucky then the check engine light will pop up too.

You can use the auto ecu though as I use an auto ecu for 2 years now in my s13. I haven't had any problems as of now
