I'm new to the forum so bear with my ignorance.

To get all the specs out I'm running a 96 240sx auto.

I'm going to be doing a auto to manual transmission swap relatively soon and I was wondering what is the difference between the SR20 ECU and the KA24 ECU?

Is the ECU interchangable for these two engines? I'm in search of a 96 manual ECU but as of lately I have no luck finding a used one at junk yards. I came across a 96 manual ECU for a SR20 and I have no idea if it'll work for my KA24.

Any help will do, maybe there is also an alternative solution to my problem?

Thanks in advance.

hey. i'm pretty sure you have to get an sr20 ECU ... the guy I got my KADE from gave me the ECU, wiring harness, etc with the engine/trans ... so he replaced his obviously ... and all the wiring will be different. so you'd need the sr harness and ecu.

I got to check on the ECU. I know on S13's you can use an auto ECU on a mnaual swap but not vice versa. SR ecu doesn't work to my knowledge unless you maybe get the NA version.... George at powerline can get you an ECU real easy. He is at an auction right now getting some new cars in. If you want his number email me at [email protected]

Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

I guess another question would be a ka24de ecu from a s13...now will that work in a s14 ka24de?
