sup guys!

Im very new to this thing and pretty much lost . Sorry but I cant find the right topic for this so i made this one. Anyways my question is if im going to swap out a sohc motor w/(standard transmission) and swap in a dohc motor w/(auto transmission), do i have to change the automatic ecu to a standard ecu for the dohc motor to work with the standard transmission?
