I'm about to purchase a brand new Wiring Specialties engine harness and noticed they offer an ECU Patch Harness, similar to the original AEM offering, as a $150 option.

It just seems rather pricey for this feature so I'm curious if anyone has this and feel if it's worth the price of admission.

Granted, I'm about to drop close to $10k on my '91 (which includes new bodywork and paint, turbos and exhaust) which I've had for over 24 years and is in need of a complete do-over, so $150 barely registers a blip on my budget sheet. I'm not sure about the current state-of-the-art engine management for the Z32 so if this patch harness allows easy access for a laptop/engine control programming, then I can see it's value...

What aftermarket devices would you like to add? Do you plan on adding a few aftermarket units which require splicing into the harness? If so, it could be worth it. Expecially if you wish to maintain the integrity of the main harness.
My window switch, wideband, and labjack all required splicing, but I'm not quite sure I would invest an extra 150. It would be a nice option to have though.

I currently only have a turbo timer, but I'm dumping it when I pull the motors to replace the turbos. I've had the timer since I bought the car 1993 with 11,000 miles and after pampering it the turbos still froze on me at the 70k mark.

The Z currently is mostly stock except for an old Stillen chip and aftermarket alarm system. But I'm going to put some high power BB turbos, dual intake, completely new 2.5 or 3" exhausts (with cats). Not sure what type of engine management is used nowadays so this is really what I want to know if this patch harness is conducive to ECU accessing and programming.

Other than that, I may add a third-party boost gauge and maybe EGT gauges; not sure what else could possible need to tap into the ECU...
