Right now, I'm having a problem with it. 2 days ago, I was driving the car on a heavy rain. There was a lot of puddles on the road & some even flooded a bit. I wasn't going fast, probably even less than 10mph. Suddenly the SES light came on & the car barely wants to go when hit the gas pedal. The engine idles fine. The next day, I took it to a local repair shop. They said the code that came out was for cylinder 1 misfiring & problem with the throttle sensor.
This is the third time it happened whenever I was driving when it's raining heavy. The first time it happened, the next day the car runs fine but the SES stays on. The second time, the next day, the SES stays on & the car barely wants to go, like it's limping so the repair shop replaced the whole throttle body & problem solved.
That was about 7-8 months ago. Now the same problem is happening again. The repair shop said that I need a new ECU. After reading online, I realized that the throttle sensor problem is pretty common for this car.
What do you guys think? Should I replace the throttle body again or just look for the ECU?
The problem only happening when I'm driving on a heavy rain.
Any advice, suggestion, or input would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys
