my car will run with the maf unhooked, in limp mode, cant get past 2500 3k, i hook the maf up it kicks in or engages, and run fine for 5-10 secs. after that it stumbles like hell and turns off. ?... ive tried several maf's they all do the same thing. ive tried grounding the maf, and it still doesn't work. so im kind of clueless and frustrated. need options kind of swiftly, cause im kind of pissed and close to scrapping the whole thing.

Check your MAF wiring where it bends to go into the plug right at the sensor- mine was messed up there and was doing something similar to what you describe. The insulation was not broken on the wires- but the copper inside it was separated. I spliced on a new plug from a parts car and all was good.

It would help if you told us when this started happening and how it ran prior to it doing this.

you must still have a wiring problem, what was wired incorrectly on the first harness?

well to my knowledge, there was only one wire that wasnt hooked up, which went to the maf, but that was because i had to wire the efi part of the harness the brown and grey plugs, but i got a harness that was complete, this time.

Did you check voltage at the maf connector? I dont know exactly what it should put out on the harness side, should be in fsm.

Your still using the sohc lower engine harness and fuse relay box? De harness plugs right in the grey and brown plugs by battery? I dont know much about full e-de oem efi swap, is this commonly what people use? Maybe your problem is in this part of the harness, again.

Check the voltage to the MAF.

Should be 0.2 volts with the ignition ON

1.0-1.4 volts at idle, engine should be warmed up.

1.4-1.9 volts at 2000 rpm

Measure from the number one pin and a good ground. Hope this helps you out.

I asked if using a Megasquirt unit to solve the MAFS problems would help, but a guy said if i can't figure out a MAFS, than i won't be able to figure out a MS. I guess that means if you're smart enough though, it'll work.
