ECU not ready

ok my car passed the tail pipe but the damn thing wont reset i only have one of the self checks done and its been over 1000k miles since i reset it. does any one know the drive cycle? its a 97 or what could be causing the problem. oh ya the only check that it completed was the heated O2 check
