Car: 1995 Nissan 240sx, with some modifications not really sure

Well i have a problem with the ecu. It is that the ecu is for a ka24 and the engine is a sr20de. I have been running it this way since i bought the car. It runs ok but am i getting the full performance that i should be out of the engine? I would have never found this out if it hadnt been for the battery light being on. So can anyone help me with this it would be great? I am tired of fooling with all these problems i bought.
