I know this sounds crazy, but all the problems I had with the car over the last week have just been solved. By standing the ECU on it's side and not lying horizontally. now tach, temp, fuel, speedo work. Car idles better. Doesnt lack power like I have a boost leak. All the plug wires are tight so I'm curious if the ECU has a leveler type deal in it.

Sounds like you had a loose/shorted wire that you moved.

yea sounds like loose wire(s), plug, etc.

I bet if you let the car run/idle and wiggle the wires coming from the ECU it'll see those initial problems once again.

Yeah, its like a tilt thing on a pinball game LOL.

Any chance you grounded the case of the ECU to the body when you turned it? That could do it too.

No, I had the ECU way from the body because I was still working out problems and hadn't "tucked" it yet. Everything seems to be fine now but I keep getting gas in my oil. Checked compression today and its 145psi across the board so it's not my rings. This is the last thing I have to fix whoo hoo

Well there was a strong fuel smell last week so I changed to oil after install. The car has run for an hour tops to work out bugs and has used a 1/4 tank of fuel and I noticed the oil is thinner and wreaks of fuel again, I drained it earlier and refilled but didnt change filter this time or run it since. Is it possible for a boost leak to cause this? I ran it for a few minutes to load car on trailer, swapped motor, changed fluids, popped coupler and had to run it for a few to get back to my house, now fuel in oil again. Going to check injectorss and coolent temp sensor in the morning.

How do I check the PCV? I just searched it on the forum and in the FSM but nothing really clear.

Are you sure your Gas return line is working properly? Or that its not clogged up?

Sounds like leaky injectors to me.

Find the problem before you trash your motor though!

Also if you have gas in the oil and you just change your oil and not the filter you have not cleaned the gas out. Be sure to change the filter too.

yea, leaking injectors might dump fuel on top the the pistons and allow them to leak gas through to the oil.
