Not sure where the problem is yet, every few months my fuel pimp refuses to prime. In that case I pop the ECCS relay out and put it back in and the thing primes. well eventually this leads to my ECU burning out. the 4th pin black/red which goes to the ECCS keeps burning on the ECU making it useless. It burnt out in the same spot on the ECU twice. what could be causing this an open wire or something? any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated I cant keep buying these things lol

I would trace your wires and look for a short, are you getting any blown fuses?

if it is the same as 91, that wire is used by computer to send ground signal to eccs relay. the eccs relay then sends 12v+ to distributor and maf etc

i would check for voltage on that wire. and resistance. maybe loose wire under the eccs relay or something ie bad solder

I'm trying to visualize this and here are a few things I'm thinking.

-The ECCS relay is controlled by providing through the ECM (I'm 99% based on year/model, but that's how they normally work) and if that is the wire that is burning that mean something is backfeeding power to the ECM

-Have you ever tested or replaced the relay? For both operation and resistance?

-If the "fuel pump not priming" is caused by no fuel pump relay operation then I would look into the wiring in the circuit. It seems highly likely that you have a compromised ground somewhere in the car or some altered wiring that has effected the ground.

If you are skilled with a multimeter you can perform the necessary tests if not you may want to find a specialist.

Hey guys....hoping you may have a suggestion for me. I have an issue with my 350....it was idling fine, all of sudden the idle dropped out and the stalled. When I tried to restart it....it would crank, wouldn't turn over. Figured it was fuel....replaced my Walbro...nada.

The radiator fans are staying on as well. In talking to my friends they are thinking it had to do with the IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module) or the ECU. I heard that if there is something wrong then the car will try to protect it self, so the fans will run and it will shut down the fuel supply.

We have torn the car apart, checking my Utec, etc. We noticed that the ignition/eccs fuse was blown on the IPDM panel....so we have replaced it twice....

Relay problem??? Last thing I've noticed is my dash lights aren't working now.....

The only thing electrically I have done in the car in a couple years was put in some after market fog lights. I know that they were tied into the headlight wiring. Don't think this could be it....but.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

-Kat
