ok ...this is on my 95 ka ... it all started when the engine check light came on and i figure out form reading the ecu code that my Air Intake Temp Sensor was busted (1 of the 2 wires broke off). from reading i found its only used for diagnostic purposes and many people drive with it disconnected but usually have the cel stay on. from looking at ecu pinout diagrams, ive located the AITS wire (#63) and am wondering if i want to eliminate that AITS, can i just cut the wire?

since the AITS has been "busted", ive noticed my 240 has been acting a lil wired down in the lower rmps as if its almost bogging... but im not sure if its cause i was low on gas.

Now, i have also have a sparre 97 auto ecu that i was hoping i could install to eliminate my rev/speed meter but soon found out that the main harness is bolted to the 5spd ecu VS the harness of an auto uses a Nut to hold it to the ecu. is there a female and male version of the auto ecu's??? or can i just take the bolting device out from the main harness, plug in the auto ecu and just zip-tie the harness in place???

any help is appreciated! thanks!

a 95 KA has a good chance of being OBDi, rather than OBDii. However, some 95s are OBDii, and it should work with your 97 ecu. But if your 95 is OBDi, then its no go, and you have to stay under 118mph....

and i have a 95 KA, but its in a 92. So i dont know about your first question.

yea i never even thought about the obd1 vs obd2. i know my 95 is obd1 ... and obviously the 97 auto ecu i have is obd2. looks like ill have to trade it or sell it if i can. thanks

i think im going to leave the aits connected as ill more than likely need it for when i install my Megasquirt system for my ka-t project. i think ive located a aits sensor fs and close to home.
