ECU Identification

My VH45 arrived today and very impressive it looks.To my surprise it came with full harness and ecu.The ecu is standard Nissan but has a MINES plaque attached with the number 8843 stamped on it.The ecu also has an adjustable pot. on it's back face.Has anyone seen or used one of these ecu's?What impact will this have on power?The engine is going in an R33 Skyline with manual transmission, will the ecu have to be tricked into thinking the auto is still present? Any comment appreciated.Phil.

I didnt know that mines made an ECU for the VH45... Pretty cool, a rarity... Probabyl similar to IMPUL, JWT, etc.... Maybe an extra 20-30HP...

Having the AT ECU with an MT wont bother you too much, it may throw a code but it wont throw a CEL... The ECU will otherwise function normally.

I can't remember what the adjustable pot does, but that's standard for many Nissan ECUs. My VH41DE ECU has that too.

Mine also came with a plate on it, an IMPUL plate. Probably been haxed a bit.

All you need to do is bypass the inhibitor switch by wiring it as being permanently in neutral, and you should be ok. That's all I've done on mine.

The POT is for self diagnostics. There should also be a L.E.D somewhere usually right beside the POT. If you turn the "POT" full clock wise and back a quarter turn then the L.E.D will start flashing, it will flash short flashes first then long ones ex. - - - - - 5 short flashes = 5? which is the first diget of a 2 diget #, if after the short ones you -- -- -- -- -- 5 long ones then that is your second diget which = 55. Code 55 on all the Nissans I have worked on mean that there are no trouble codes ( everything ois fine), code 13 (1 short, 3 long) is the code for faulty C.A.S curcuit.
