Im buying a 2003 coupe at a good price because the ecu is not working they tell me that the car was not used in months and they usually jumped the car with a booster because the battery was dead. It seems that a bad connection with the booster cable hurt the ecu and after that the car burn the Ignition Coils. they replaced the coils and the car work fine for a month or so and was return to the shop with thes ame problem but this time they saw that when the put the key on the check engine light does not turn on,they assume is the ecu. This is possible? im buying a ecu in ebay i have the vin number and the series number for the ecu but they are many with different number how do i know it will work on my car? what ecu can i use for this car the ecu from the car is:mec31-911A13224

I'd be weary of a deal like that...You could buy an aftermarket ECU. Might be cheaper than the OEM replacement.

I'd call up the dealer and have them verify ECU versions via the VIN #. Easiest and safest way to do it.
