The red led on my ecu stays lit all the time. My car is running rich and cuts out when it starts to build boost. Does that sound like a bad ecu? I opened it up but it dosent look burnt. Any help would be appreciated.

Its an sr20det. At about 3k rpms it will or when my boost gauge is showing boost it starts to cut out and will backfire. I bought the car with the swap so i dont know to much about it. I read a thread on here a while back that said something about the red led on the ecu should go out after a few seconds of running. My stays lit all the time. The guy i bought the car off of said it always has stayed lit. Ya and it is a tuned ecu.

well you said that the engine cuts out at 3k rite if it does then check your maf sensor that might be your problem for the check engine light do a self diagnose check on the ecu see what code it through and look it up...

I checked the maf and it is good. The check engine light is not on its the led on the ecu that is staying lit. I noticed that there is 2 prongs broken off where the harness connects to the ecu. Could that possibly be an issue?
