I went to the faq, and I did a search. I got the guide on diagnosing from the faq, and went and did the "4" diagnoses. However, I wonder if I'm doing it right, so I have some questions..By the way, the car is a 1991 ka1. You can get to mode I, by just turning the ignition to the on position right?2. In mode I, with the engine off, and the light on the ecu, and the dash are both on, does that mean everything's fine and no further diagnosing is necessary?3. In mode I, with the engine on, and both lights are off, then everything is fine rigth?4. In mode II, if it gives me a 55, than everything is fine?

5. And most importantly, If my car is kinda farting at consistant 2k rpms, and sometimes dies when started cold, should the ecu have detected anything? (I mean is the computer omniscent?, or does it still fail to diagnose other probs?)

the ecu can only diagnose problems that the sensors pick up, therefore problems could arise that the ecu doesn't know about

hehe, yeah, I think we are getting somewhere. Event though I felt somehow confident about the diagnose, we still went to mexico to get it checked in the computer. They said it was the MAF, and the "something" coil in the distributor. I also saw an engine temp. sensor message on the computer screen, but they didn't mention it. Anyway, I went home today and we switched the MAF with the other '92 s13. We went for a drive w/no problems. My brother pushed it to 90mph w/o a hassle. However, we don't know yet since this is not a recurring prob. We'll probably run it like this for a couple of days and see if the bobbing comes back.

apperently the MAF is causing some serious problems cause as soon as we put the old one on the problem came back. I'll be buying one off of ebay for 10 bucks but of course it'll used so who knows maybe it doesn't work very well either but for 10 bucks I'll give it a try.
