I was wondering if you buy a tuned ecu do you still need to set the timing back for the amount of boost or does the ecu adjust the timing for the amount of power its programed to handle

Just like neverlift said, make sure all is right with your stock settings. There is no need to retatrd your timing. Your tuned ecu will control fuel and timing via the new settings put in by whoever tuned the ecu. It really is a plug and play setup as long as everything else is kosher.
