My ecu is giving off two error codes, one is a water temp sensor error and an automatic error. I did a DOHC swap and added the SOHC water temp sensor onto the engin, could this be causing this? should i switch it back? also will the automatic ecu work in a manual transmission car?

Im trying to get my car timed and the shop says the ecu wont let the timing set till these issues are resolved, any input would be great.

thank you

visually, hows the sensor? harness/wires ok? terminal good? hows the sensor? have you tested it? is the cooling system bled?(if not, it wouldnt sense temp very easily or not at all) why didnt you just use the dohc sensor/harness? as for the trans codes, search for the sohc-dohc swap guide. it says how to use the auto transmission on a manual. yes it will work

Visually the sensor is good, it was not causing any problems on the SOHC engine. All the electrical parts are the originals from the SOHC and were working when that engine was in there. I took out the DOHC sensor because i was told by my friend at a shop i would need to since the car was still a 1990. I have not bled the cooling system, what is the procedure to do that? Thank you for the post
