So I recently changed out my intake valve cover gasket on my 91 300zx N/A. After I put the plenum i started it up and it starts really rough and rpm drops almost immediately and just dies. So i pulled the code on the ECU and got 34 detonation sensor circuit so any ideas on what the problem could be?

You probably swapped the det. sensor connector and cam sensor for bank 2. They share the same 2 pin connector, same color and everything. If I remember right the cam sensor uses a red/green wire (EFI side) and the detonation sensor has a yellow/black wire (EFI side) Follow the cam sensor for the other side (connector is on right side of intake near EGR tube and oxygen sensor connectors) and check the wire colors then compare them to the connector hooked to your bank 2 sensor. They use the same color wires in both connectors. If both cam sensors dont have the same color wires in the EFI harness then you've got them swapped. It's a common and easy mistake to make.
