Im gonna explain this as EASY as i can in hopes that i dont confuse anyone
On the 240 in STOCK form has 2 fans... The MECHANICAL fan that is belt driven and a smaller 10 or 12 inch ELECTRIC fan. This electric fan kicks on in ONLY 3 ways.. When the a/c is turned on, that fan also kicks on.. When the water temp reaches 203 deg F, that fan kicks on running at LOW speed. When the water temp reaches 212 deg F, that same fan turns over to HIGH speed.
Now im under the assumption that the electric fan is controlled by the ECU, i could be wrong, but i think im right. IF im right and this fan IS controlled by the ECU, is there a way to re-program that ECU to kick the fan ON at a lower temperature...??
Right now i am using that same fan as my primary (long story) and im tapped into the harness that comes FROM the fan and ive got a 12V relay with an adjustable therm set at 185 to kick that fan over... I would like to NOT have all that mess there and just be able to plug this sucker into the stock harness and have it kick over at ~185 FROM the ecu...
Maybe im all messed up here, but it was a thought that crossed my mind.... Just wondering if there is a possibility...
