Last Saturday I hooked up with Robert and he did my ECU reprogramming.

I showed up at his house at 11:30 and I was back on the fwy at 1:15.

He’s the first NICO member that I’ve met, and the second I’ve spoken to (Wes). It was a cool hang. I got to meet his dad and his wife both of who are really nice people. We talked about music, eating Zancu chicken, shallots, garlic, and that other garlic like thing that his dad mentioned. He was very quick with the job. He really knows what he’s doing. I also got to drive his 93Q. It felt like a beast.

As far as my car it feels like it had an angioplasty like it’s breathing a lot easier. It now idles at 600 as opposed to 750. I don’t know what that means. Also he wired it so it can accept the on and off switch but he was out of them so I’ll probably go back for him to put it on. I don’t know which stage he did but since we are in Cali it’s probably stage 1.

Thanks Robert.

I gotta get one. I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't have one yet. I've got a huge to-do list for my car and just haven't gotten around to it. Glad to see that everyone is happy with the end result.

I'd love to see more pics of your car. Can you make that happen? BTW what size tires are you running and what is the offset of your wheels?

Have you ever experienced unusual tire wear or rubbing issues with the:18x8F 30mm 225-45-18; 18x8.5 33mm 245-45-18 ?

Im going to run 245-40-18 and 255-40-18 (F/R respectively) and I think ill be fine.. However my fenders are rolled all the way around...

You should be fine with that size, or 245-45-18 all around.

Dmitri - Glad you like it. As for the idle, that is a little weird. I'll look at the code again and see if I've changed anything. I sometimes have 5 or 6 variants of the same code but I try to keep them consistent for all the ones I sell.

I can bump the idle back up to 750 easily enough. Does it idle at 600 in neutral, too? Idle is usually 650 neutral/625 in gear or 700/625 (JDM) or 750/650 (1990). I haven't seen a late model like yours with the 750 idle but it wouldn't be the first time they changed something minor.

I don't know why but just a couple of minutes ago the car was idling pretty well.750 in neutral and 750 in park. So.... that's ok by me but still different than what you just posted.

Won't the diameter be different front vs. rear? 245/40, vs. 255/40.I kinda wanted to put 255/45 on my rears but I thought that with the different diameter it would throw the speedometer off or you'd need to recalibrate.

The speedo only factors in what the rear tires are.. So it doesnt matter what the front is (say that theyre within 1in OD to not cause goofyness with the ABS)... Right now (when I had my 350Z wheels on, got 235 60 15s on now) i am running 225-45-18 front (26in OD) and 265-40-18 rear (26.7 OD)... Just fine baby, dont make it harder than it has to be!
