ecu diagnostic check rb25

i bought an ecu from a guy on zilvia and its the self diagnostic check one. I opened the ecu when i got it and to my surprise there isnt a red light anywhere that i can see!! there is the small dial to rotate with a screwdriver, then the space next to it for the light but there isnt one there. is this right?
