What is the top speed that the stock ECU cuts out at in a 1992 stock 240sx SE?And besides buying a performance ECU, is there anyway i can take it off? And why does the 240 tach out at 5000 rpms in 5th gear, and how can i change that?

It's not that I was being rude, but I looked into it myself too. Then, I decided that I had no business or need to go above 120mph... that's just too fast. There's a wire you can cut going into the ECU. Follow the speed sensor wires on a wiring diagram, you can cut it there but you should still get a speedometer reading as the wire goes into your gauges first. You also might wanna put it on a switch if you have cruise control, so you can retain that too.

I heard that ur speedometer dont work if you do that in 5th gear.... but anyways...If your car is 5spd, you can swap in a auto ecu and you get no speed cut but you do lose your reverse light.
