What is the top speed that the stock ECU cuts out at in a 1992 stock 240sx SE?And besides buying a performance ECU, is there anyway i can take it off? And why does the 240 tach out at 5000 rpms in 5th gear, and how can i change that?

The stock 5-speed ECU cuts fuel at somewhere around 112mph, I believe. You can fix that by finding an automatic ECU and dropping it in, no performance ECU necessary. Incidentially, at 112mph in 5th gear, your revs are in the neighborhood of 4800rpm... perhaps this is the cut you're feeling?

It's 117mph fuel cut. You can eliminate it by cutting a simple wire.Only draw back I had is that I have to shift to 5th at 100mph.
