Clean and simple, I think I remember reading somewhere that it was possible to use a KA ECU with the SR engine. Someone tell me if i am wrong please.

KA ECU's can be reprogrammed by Jim Wolf Technologies to run the SR. However I am fairly certain that you will then have to change over to a distributor.

JWT retune, SR20DE distributor.

It gets rid of the coilpacks and the crank angle sensor

EDIT: And it sucks.

okay thanx ill make sure to get the silvia ecu then. Its not woth the money for a retune...

Edit: just a question though, does the silvia ecu plug into the 240's harness? I know im gonna have to get the adaptors for the engine.

No, i am most likely going to buy the harness adaptors that i have seen sold on a few sites around. But that wont be for a while now, i have to put the engine together first, as i have gotten it piece by piece. (its a complicated story)

That question kinda confuses me. Isn't the KA harness and the SR harness very similar? Why would i want to take out a whole freakin harness when i can just use the perfectly good one thats in my car now? Or am i worng... Sorry, i just dont wanna fool with it unless there's a good reason.

The farther you get away from using a stock SR20 harness the more complex it will become and the more problems you might/will run into. Do the right thing, buy a uncut SR20 harness and get the wires lengthend and a few plugs changed.

just my opinion

They are similar but they have different style plug connectors. Not to mention that the SR uses coilpacks and CAS and the KA doesn't have those plugs. You need to cut and sauder some plugs from your KA harness to your SR harness.

Lets just put it this way you need a SR harness. So fork over the cash and do it right.

The SR will not run until you have the SR harness.
