ECU codes??

How do you get the ECU codes to flash?? I know how to read the codes i just need to know how to get them to flash. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Turn the key to the on position, the LED on the ECU should light up and stay on (on some ECU's it doesnt). Then rotate the little screw counterclockwise all the way. The LED should start flashing. This is for an S13 ECU.
