So what's the deal with the mode selector screw also being marked as the "idle speed adjust"? Does it actually work? If so, just move it as the car runs?

I know all about the AAC's adj. screw, and about half the people, even following the exact instruction on the FSM, can't get it to budge the idle with it. I am one of those people.

hey, just turn it following the instructions from 240sx.org I just did this last week on my brother's 1990 worked like a charm, now we know we need new fuel injectors and possibly egr ;)

Thanks for the input, but I was talking about using it to actually adjust idle, not to check for codes. I was just wondering if anyone actually used it for this, and if it works, because it seems that most people can't get the AAC's idle screw to do anything. My main problem with the AAC's adjustment is that it changes the idle very very little, then when you plug the TPS back in, it goes back to where it was.

Been a couple of days, and the higher idle from the ECU screw is holding.
