ECU code 34 and 103.. what the..

hey guys, so i got a CEL while driving along today and i didnt hear or feel anything so i was like wTF!, the car drives and idles fine and when i got home i checked the ecu : gave me code 34 and 103, which is Detonation (Knock) Sensor (34) and Park/neutral switch (103)

now why would i get park/neutral switch code? i have a 5 spd..

whats goin on..

check to see if any of the connections are a bit loose.

Those obd1 ecus like to throw random codes, even if nothing wrong is detected. I've had mine read that it had leaking injectors, bad maf, and o2 sensor problems all at once. Redid my MAF ground and all the codes left.

I think it just throws them so the technicians will check them.

lol, interesting, so umm now that it threw the code, how do i get my CEL to go off?

i redid my ground wires in the engine (only 2 that i know of, the one from intake manifold to chassis and alternator to chassis with some quality wires/goldplated connectors). i did this about 2 weeks ago though

last week i lowered my car.. maybe something got knocked loose now with the stiffer ride.

do you think the ecu connector could be loose ?

btw, my car is 95, so is it OBD I? the thing is i have 2 o2 sensors, one is 1 wire and one is 3

edit: also, where is the knock sensor at? i guess i should check the connection for that

The knock sensor is pita. It located underneath the intake manifold on the block. To reset the cel, you basically use the same method as checking the ecu. Well check this out. http://www.240sx.org/faq/artic...h.htm

ooo.. ok somewhere i read resetting the CEL wrong, ima try the method in that article right there, hopefully the stupid codes go away.. for good.

btw, if it doesnt go away, do u kno where to get the knock sensor harness? cause ill prolly replace that first

***UPDATE***

so now i replaced my knock sensor harness about a month ago, and it was fine for 3 weeks. Now last week the CEL tripped again with the same code (34 and 103), i reset it, and a week later it tripped again. so im thinking the knock sensor is probably bad as well, just the harness was making it worse i guess?

anyone have any idea on what to do? should i just replace the knock sensor or would the knock sensor being bad trip it constantly, before replacing the harness it would trip the code within 24 hours
