ECU code 21

Can anyone with an FSM please help me out with this one, I checked the ECU and came up with code 21(ignition system) I need to know what is causing this code. I have been having trouble starting my car latley and I think this is whats causing it. It dosent do it all the time. I bought an FSM but it has not arrived yet. Also would this code have anything to do with the fuel system, because it seems like its not getting fuel when I have trouble starting it??? HELP!!!!

I don't think the problem is not getting fuel, its not getting spark.

Quote »"The ignition signal in the primary circuit is not entered during engine cranking or running."[/quote]Basically, the primary coil is not getting turned on & off to generate the high voltage charge sent to the distributor, and in the end, your spark plugs, which would indeed cause problems starting, or running the car.

Shoot me an email at [email protected] and I'll email you the FSM pages regarding this problem. With them you should be able to resolve the problem rather quickly.

you can hear your fuel pump when the key is in the on position so youll know if thats the problem and as for the 21 code thats usually a sign that your having problems with the distributer theres also a fuse that correlates with your dis.
