last week we got a lot of rain where i live, and i got water in my motor, it started runnin crappy so i shut it off and towed it home, i changed my oil and plugs, drained the gas just in case some was in there too, it was smokin a lil bit of white smoke right after it happened but now it dont, but it idles kinda funny and if i rev it up it pops or backfires a lil bit, so i checked the ecu codes and im getting a code 11- camshaft position sensor, is that what it is makin it pop and idle funny and has anyone had problems with theres before.

btw when i checked the ecu i turned the key to on position, turned the screw all the way clockwise then back and it flashes once then flashes again, the first flash is a lil bit longer than the second one, then it repeats the code over and over till i shut key off, so that means its code 11 right, just checkin

when you say you got water IN the motor, do you mean in through the filter? or did it get in while the valve cover was off?

I ask because if it went in through the intake, you got lucky by not having hydrolock. If it went in the crank case, you'll have to hope it doesn't rust any of the bearings up.

Anyways, onto the code problem. It could be a faulty connection, or the CAS may be dying after all the water. Try unplugging and replugging it first to make sure it's not a plug seatment issue. Then check your timing to make sure it's at 15 degrees BTDC. If it still continues to persist, get ahold of a working CAS and swap it in to see if the idle levels out.

From what you said the car is doing, it sounds like timing is way off. I would double check the timing first.

yah it went through the filter, but when u say cas are u talkin about the crank angle sensor or camshaft position sensor because code 11 is the camshaft position sensor

they are one in the same. A crank angle sensor is a camshaft position sensor. Do you know what a power transistor unit is?
