If you are interested in a legit fuel saving system there is one from a company called Fitch. My editor proved this kit in his Jeep Cherokee.

He was using the inline 4.0-6 cylinder and was getting fuel ratings. The engine was turned into a stroker engine that had about 265 hp.

His fuel economy was 19 MPG without the kit.

Once he put it in he realized fuel economy of 23.5 MPG.The Canadian Site is http://www.gofitch.com

And the US is http://www.fitchfuelcatalyst.com

Hello. After reading and looking at FITCH....I wonder if the Eco-fuel is doing the same thing?

I order 3 and will try it out. Both companies claims the same process of the fuel use. .....Aloha

I've been running the ECO3 for about a year, city driving you will not see much of an increase. Hwy driving produce about a 1.5 mpg increase for me.

Hello, NO I am not a member of the Island Titanz Truck club or any other. Just brought my wife a Exterra (sometimes I can drive it?) She needs it to pick COFFEE , the coffee roads are ruff and sometimes hilly-Not paved) dirt and rocky roads. We drink 100% Kona Coffee. Family brand-home grown and roasted. WE do sell this too, $10.00 for 1/2lb and $20.00 for 1lb...Kona is rich in aroma and very strong tasting!!!! Wanna try?

We also do alot of shoreline Ulua fishing and camping at the beaches. My truck is 1986 Dodge ram 4 x4 PU, 4" Rancho lift, after market muliple port fuel injection, eldbrock manifold, mild cam, 32" BFG...run out of money for bigger rims. front and rear has limited slips (trac-locks).

Eco fuel systems....Napa is now a distributor too! ...it is at the end of the year when you look at your fuel bills,(one commercial trucking comapny did not notice a larged the MPG savings, but at the end of the year,$44,000 savings.

Eco and fitch(both of these companies have the same thing) will be the next largest fuel saving device to hit the markets...the advertisement is going slow..but things will go BIG! Just my thoughts on this!.......Aloha

A friend of mine has an 05 or an 06 NISMO Frontier, nice truck, 265HP, getting near 25 - 30 mpg, I'll report back once I'm sure of the real numbers.

device @ http://savefuel.ca WARNING, be prepared to WAIT, I ordered one, and it took 3 months to deliver..Wait 3 months to NOT deliver, I ended up canceling the order - they did refund my money, but there was a paypal fee.

Anyways, my friend actually did get one, and he claims that he is getting much better mileage. I plan on buying/building a similar device and attempting to squeeze more HP out of my 2.4.

This is also why I am a fan (no pun intended) of superchargers instead of turbos. wait, that, torque, and INSTANT FRIGGIN' POWER. oh yeah, there's something about that sound too.

This just in, my friend's Frontier is an 06 - V6, NISMO edition, gets 30-34 mpg. THAT's freaking insane the secret is soda ash as the catalyst - or regular baking soda!!

he also has the older, "cheaper" one that now goes for $347.00

Be prepared to wait, I'm not saying that this is a bad company, they were just swamped with orders. see link above - I am NOT affiliated with this company - although maybe I should be.

were I spamming, I wouldn't have been talking smack about the company. I'm here trying to see how I can boost my 4 banger. The way things usually work is if you try to help others, others might just try to help you.Just trying to help out, if the moderator thinks it's SPAM then I'll take it off.

I'm no chemistry expert, but I did a little research and I am skeptical of this product. The product uses lye and water coupled with an electrical charge to produce a hydrogen vapor. So in this sense it does what is says. The concern I have is with how much hydrogen it can actually produce. I don't think it's enough to add any significant energy to the combustion process.

http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/...8.htm

The product site states hydrogen has the most energy for it's mass. This is true. What they don't tell you is that it takes some 3-4 times the volume of gasoline tank to store the same amount of energy (in liquid hydrogen form).

http://www-formal.stanford.edu....html

It may help clean carbon deposits...though I'm not sure how quickly:

http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/...8.htm

At best, if you could make an opening in the tank to fit some objects through, it might make a great rust remover:

http://www.stovebolt.com/techt...g.htm

If the testemonials are real, it's likely these people are experiencing the placebo effect. By watching their mileage more carefully, they may actually sub-consciously and inadvertantly change their driving habits to a more efficient one. A double blind test would probably show some interesting results.

To be honest with you, there's a little part of my mind - way back in the back - that has wanted to do this since I was 12. Bad financial decisions, life etc are probably why I haven't, but I've found alot of different resources on the web. In 2002, I found instrucions on how to run your car completely on "water", just by upgrading to a higher output alternator and making some serious mods. Always wanted to do it, buy money and time never came together at the same time. The friend of mine told me about the savefuel.ca and how he bought one and actually had a success story. Easy win, someone else made something, I could add it. I'm just as skeptical as you are, except that I know it can be done somehow, I mean we did electrolysis in jr high school. Actually, ninth grade, which is now high school. I'll post a link to those instructions once I find them. One down side is metal getting brittle. I think this is why those who are adventuring into this are still keeping gasoline in the play. I'm not a chemist either LOL, so I guess that's why I've left it to "the experts" LOL. I need to get a beater that I don't care if it blows up or not. DEFINITELY NOT my XTerra, although I got a good deal on it, it was still expensive...I have a simple desire.... LOL, rediculous horsepower AND great gas mileage! HAHAHAHAHA like a geo w/ 300hp but I'd rather have a Dodge or a Nissan! good stuff by the way... you did a little research too.Aren't Nissan gas tanks plastic now? LOL

If you actually read through the links I posted, you'll see that the process will work, but the feasability of making it powerful enough, sustain enough mileage per "tank" and portability will make it nearly impossible with current technology.

OOPS!!! I hit refresh, sorry about that. To be honest, I replied, then went back and read, interesting stuff. But, I am convinced that it will work. I may not be the one to perfect it, but, I will eventually use it - maybe! LOL.

ok, here we go, something else I found w/ googlehttp://www.theautochannel.com/....htmlok, I'm done, now... I just want a faster XTerra for now. : )

As this forum's Moderator I wouldn't refer to your links as SPAM. They are fine with me as long as you don't attach an unapproved advertising URL on your signature. The owners of this sight do tend to disapprove of that sort of thing.

As for water being used to boost performance. Racing drivers used to inject water under high pressure into the combustion chamber during ignition of the air/fuel mixture. When the vaporized water hit the chamber it would increase the HP and torque curves a great deal. You woul be basically making steam and steam is very powerful under pressure. ( Old Steam Locomotives were nuts on their torque ranges.)

It does decrease the life of an engine but my old High School mechanics Instructor, who told me about the water inection, never went into the finer details of life span, expected power gains etc.
