here is my problem..My car has drivability problems..took to it to the local dealership and they indicated that the Ecm unit is toast. A new one from them cost $900. I then realized that this car has numerous ECm units for the vatious models ..some may or they may not ..is this true ? I'm fuguring that if the motor and transmission is the same setup things should be golden. I located another one and installed it in the car , however the car won't start now. I called the company I purcahsed the unit from AND THEY SAID THAT ehnever you install a new unit that since the keys have a computer coded chip ( news to me ) they need to be re-programmed to the new computer..Does this sound right ? Is this something that i could do myself
