ECM question maybe you got my answer

So I have swapped in a dual cam KA from a single cam but it has never run with the dual cams MAF sensor. So after some diagnosis I think that when I bought the engine I was given the wrong ECM because the car only runs with the old single cam MAF and dies when you put on the dual cam MAF with both the new ECM and the one I had in the car. Plus I know the wiring is good I have gone over it and it is not shorting or anything. SO the question I have is, is there anybody in the the Rancho cucamonga, Fontana, or other town near these in CA that could possibly help me out by letting me swap in their DUAL CAM ECM (must be sure it is dual cam) to test it out and see if I am right I will obviously give it back and what not I will even supply some grub and stuff I just want to test it out. well I don't know what the problem is exactly but I do have a solution for you...

Get an Apexi SAFC II. Regular or black edition depending on your preference of color... Wire it in. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS CORRECTLY. And then it'll run on any MAF you put in it. And your can control just how it runs as far as fuel and air go. Also this is a good diagnostic tool. A used one only costs 150 bucks or so now on ebay so just grab you one and wire it up and play with the settings till you get it running perfect. Problem solved. Just make sure you wire it up right or you could fry the thing. I used the FSM Fold out to get the wires right for my car.

OK so after some research I have come to find that the ECU in my car right now is for the old SOHC and not the dual so I need to buy the proper one of somebody but I live in Cali so I guess I need the California emissions one (has a big #30 on a sticker on the case) but I was wondering if i could just run the car on a Federal emissions one ( has a #28 on it) because that is all I can find on Ebay beside sohc ECU's. The reason btw that I am not going with the SAFC is because I cant afford it right now (they are like $200 on ebay) and the computers are like $75 so ya if anybody knows if I can I would love the info.
