I have just recently had to take my '09 G37 Journey sedan (13,000 miles) into the Infiniti dealer here in Albuquerque regarding an engine problem. The vehicle's engine was misfiring and wanting to stall. Was acting like a fuel pump/bad gas problem. However, upon inspection, the dealer said that the ECM had a "software problem" regarding the air flow meter. They reprogramed the ECM and the problem seems to have been fixed. By the way, the G gave absolutely no warning indications that this problem was about to occur. It could leave you stranded in a very bad place!

Have any of you fellow '09 Journey sedan owners experienced a similiar problem with the engine/air flow meter? When this problem first manifested itself, I was WAY out in the boondocks of New Mexico and far away from any possible assistance. The engine began bucking while I was manually using the accelerator. When placed on cruise control, the engine did not exhibit the bucking/stallling problem. Weird. The Infiniti service manager tried to explain this by saying that when placed on cruise control, the G37 motor found a way around the problem via another computer circuit. Was he just blowing smoke or is this indeed possible?

Interesting...I put on an aftermarket intake on my 2009, and haven't had any problems. At least they got it fixed!
