We bought a 2004 Nissan Armada in August, 2011. We love the vehicle, however after driving it approxiatemately 50 miles on a trip the engine begins to loose power. This began happening within one week of our purchasing the vehicle. Particularly when paasing or climbing a slight incline. We contacted a Nissan dealer and they said it sounded like the ECM relay, which was a recalled item. We contacted the dealer we bought the vehicle from and were told they had replaced the ECM two weeks before we bought the vehicle. They have refused to correct the problem. Is there something else that could be causing this problem?
Once it begins it occurs every few miles.

The first thing i would do is submit your VIN number to another dealer and see if the recall has been performed. You could also contact the NHTSA 1-888-327-4236

Thank you for the quick reply. I did take it to another dealer when the problem occured on a trip. They said it sounded like the ECM, but checked and said the entire unit had been replaced. That is why I think the new unit must faulty. I did contact the NHTSA and a case has been opened.

did you get any sort of extended warranty when the vehicle was bought, or was it just the standard 30 day?

...although I guess if you filed the claim within that 30 days, you should still be able to get help on it.
Remind the Nissan stealerships that its because of BS like this that they were ranked dead last in customer satisfaction until very recently.

I ask about a 30day warranty but did not get it. It was a very large local dealership. We began having the problem the first time we drove more than 50 miles without stopping (within 10 days of purchase.) We have to drive more than 50miles, then the engine begins to stall. If we stop for 10 minutes or so, we can drive a little further before it stalls again. Our thinking is something is overheating. The dealership has changed hands recently so we will see if they might help us. Do you have any ideas. The NHST has not notified what the results of my filed complaint are.

an OBDII scanner and a competent mechanic should be able to pinpoint it. He should be able to check all your coolant temp sensors, air temp sensors, timing, etc.
