I just found a post that suggested taking the E C M out and replacing a tube inside it could cure some of the fault codes I have been getting. The post indicates the tube has a known failure rate. Rather than replacing the ECM it is a cheap fix. Is anyone familiar with this?

Welcome. Never encountered that issue before. Maybe try to reply on that post or PM the persons there.

Have you tried to do computer diagnostics? Why guess if the problem may be on the surface? Use a car maintenance app, or take the car to a mechanic to diagnose and localize the problem. This will make it easier to find solutions. Replacing the ECM may be a cheap solution, but if the problem is not there, it will turn into a waste + solution to the problem
