ECM error code

I just found a post that suggested taking the E C M out and replacing a tube inside it could cure some of the fault codes I have been getting. The post indicates the tube has a known failure rate. Rather than replacing the ECM it is a cheap fix. Is anyone familiar with this?

Your ECU has tubes? How old is it? o.O
