I have a Infiniti Q70L with VQ25 engine, and I swap into VQ37VHR.
After that, I turn the engine by ECUTEK by a tunner, the program work in first 2 tunning files, then the ECM was burnned in third file rewrite.
Have anyone ever burnned the ECM by ECUTEK?

Having been here many years, I don't think I've seen this happen during a tune on an M/Q70 platform car. Most people here use UpRev though or did until UpRev pulled support.

That isn't burnt, it's corroded. The circuits were heating up (that's evident from the melted conformal coat), but it's likely the problem was developing long before you attempted to tune it. My guess is the tuning process was utilizing circuits that are dormant in normal operation, and one of those is what failed. However, with that much crud on the PCB, it would have failed you anyway at some point in the future. It's probably fortunate that it crapped out in the garage and didn't fail in operation and leave you stranded or cause an accident.

We can still tune ANY 2006 and newer M; there is just an additional fee for ECU types that are not already in the database. The tuning scene in regards to the M's is extremely small and it just doesn't make sense for Uprev to have one of their 100K a year developers spend 8 hours+ building a rom file that will most likely be used only once or twice.

We've actually made some breakthroughs recently in regards to the throttle maps that really helps the 37 and 56. :dblthumb:

Oh good to know! You want to re-etune my 56? :naughty:. I actually live in FL now so may be worth doing anyway since temps and humidity are way different here. Didn't think of that until just literally this second lol.

Is UpRev a better tool to tune VQ engine?

Around here, it's the only tool that people can say works.

I've done a tune for 3 of the guys in this thread; if you're ever bored one day and want to post a review (especially the guy who was previously tuned!!) I'd really appreciate it. You can't imagine what a difference it makes until you take the plunge...
