I've got a friend with a early 90s turbo eclipse. it's been wrecked, but its only aesthetic damage. he's trying to get rid of it for $500. i was just wondering if i could use the turbo from the eclipse on my KA. if not, are there any other parts from the turbo system that i could use that would make it worth $500 to get?

From what Ive heard the 14B turbo on the eclipse will bolt to a T25 flange. So id say if thats true go for it cause those Turbos can boost more pretty safely.

is it possible to remove the turbo parts and keep the car running fine... kinda like downgrading it to a NA? I know I could still get at least $500 for it. So it'd be kinda like a free turbo... I just don't know if a stock eclipse turbo would even be worth the trouble.

i personally dont know about how good the turbo is but you could use the B.O.V. maybe the side mount (just not the piping) Injectors could probably be salvaged, if your up to it you may also be able to rig up the electric fans. plus i be you could part out the car for some cash and get more than 500 easy

yeah, i was actually just thinkin about buying it so i have something to drive while i get some things done to my car ive been meaning to do. blue book on the eclipse is $1200 in fair condition, so i should be able to maybe even turn a profit on it.

You theoretically can use any turbo on any motor, but you can't expect them to perform the way you want unless you size them properly. Personally, OEM turbos suck and are small to minimize lag. On top of that, it was sized small for a 2.0L engine so putting it on your 240 will make it seem even smaller. Don't waste your money on it. Save for a turbo that is sized for your power goals and you'll be much happier.
