eccs relay

Has anyone had any problems with the eccs relay going bad on 97 body style qx4 and pathfinders. I went out one day and it wouldnt start, just crank over. popped the hood, everything seemed fine jumped back in and it started up. Drove it and it stalled, started back up and i drove it off the street and stalled again. Got back to my house and while it was running i tapped on the fuel pump relay thinking maybe that was a problem everytime i hit the relay it would sputter. I switched it out with another relay did the same thing. There are 4 relays in that location. eccs, inhibitor, fuel pump, and then something to do with the 4x4. eccs is the only relay when removed would create the same symptoms as the problem. I replaced it with the rear defroster relay and and it starts evertime. I just did all this tonight so i dont know if i fixed the problem by switching the relay or if it isnt acting up now. i will drive it somemore and see what happens.
